3) In case you haven't read about it. New imports are stacking up in port storage lots all over North America. Apparently, Americans aren't buying new but instead are repairing their existing vehicles. We see this as an opportunity for the repair community to increase business in this otherwise tough economic climate. Our suggestion for European Specialists is to get out those customer mailing lists, get them updated and start advertising to your local customers. We can never remind our customers too much regarding the need for maintenance if they are planning to keep their vehicles. We are seeing a lot of sales related to Timing belts, Undercar bushing replacements and Struts. We've had an upsurge of "Do It Yourself" repair inquiries for tools to do jobs that should be performed by professionals only. It's sometimes frightening the jobs they think they can tackle. You can just see the tow truck pulling up to your shop with all the parts in the trunk. Get creative with your payment terms and think of what "Added Value" you can bring to your customers. Small giveaways,free oil changes with next visit,etc. You know the drill. Let's keep everyone working. Don't wait for the customers. BE PROACTIVE.
